Alt ID is your profile on Alt, made up of your username and logo. From this point forward, your Alt ID will appear on all of your auction listings, helping buyers know exactly who they’re buying from.

This shift is designed to bring more trust and transparency to our marketplace while giving sellers the tools to showcase their brands. Competitors like eBay and Fanatics already spotlight their sellers, and we’re excited to give our community the same advantage; so you can stand out, build recognition, and drive repeat business.

How to change your Alt ID and get your shareable link

This feature is currently only editable on the mobile app. If you’re new to Alt, you’ll set up your Alt ID during sign-up. Existing sellers can head to My Alt to upload a logo or image and customize their username.

‍Want to remain an anonymous? If you’re not ready to build your storefront on Alt, simply keep the generic Alt Seller user name and photo we supply!

How do you get a shareable link to your storefront? We're working on adding this capability to mobile, but for now, grab a filtered link from the website!

1. Head to app.alt.xyz
2. Go to the Auctions page
3. Open Filters > Sellers and search for your username
4. Apply your filter settings
5. Copy the link from the URL bar and voila! Share as you please.

Your Alt ID is more than a name; it’s your storefront. Use a clean and recognizable logo that buyers can instantly associate with your inventory. What is Alt ID?

Alt ID is your unique profile on Alt. It includes a username and profile image that display on all of your active auction listings. Think of it as your storefront on Alt, giving buyers a clear way to recognize and find your listings.

Do I need to set up an Alt ID to sell on Alt?

Every user on Alt will automatically be assigned an Alt ID. You can customize it with your own username and logo to build your brand, or keep the default Alt-generated version if you prefer to stay anonymous.

For Sellers

How do I create or update my Alt ID?

New sellers will be prompted to set up their Alt ID during sign-up. Existing sellers can update their username and profile image anytime by going to My Alt.

Can I upload my own logo or image?

Yes. We recommend using a recognizable logo or image if you want to build a professional seller brand. Sellers with Alt Black status will also have access to our AI logo generator, which can create a unique custom design.

What if I do not want to show my identity?

You’re in control. If you’d like to remain anonymous, you can keep the default Alt ID we assign to you, or create an unrecognizable name and image that doesn’t tie back to your real identity.

How does Alt ID help me sell more cards?

Buyers are more likely to bid with sellers they recognize and trust. With Alt ID, your profile builds credibility and visibility over time, helping you attract repeat buyers and drive more bids to your cards.

Can I change my username later?

Yes, but username changes are limited. We recommend choosing something memorable and consistent with your brand to avoid frequent updates.

Are there requirements for usernames and logos?

Yes. Usernames must be unique, under 15 characters, and free of profanity, impersonation, or misleading language. Usernames are case sensitive as well. Logos should follow the same standards and cannot include offensive or infringing content.

Can I share my Alt ID profile outside of Alt (Instagram, Discord, etc.)?

Yes. You can share your Alt profile link across social platforms to drive more visibility and traffic to your auctions. This is a great way to connect your existing community with your listings on Alt!

Are there extra benefits for top-tier or verified sellers?

Yes. Over time, we’ll introduce additional features! Stay tuned for updates as we expand Alt ID.

What about my privacy as a buyer?

Alt ID only applies to sellers. Your activity as a buyer, including bids and purchases, remains completely anonymous.

Alt ID makes it easy to spot sellers you know and trust. You’ll be able to find their listings quickly and feel confident bidding with them.

Will I be able to filter auctions by seller?

Yes. On both desktop and mobile, you’ll be able to filter auctions by seller to see only their active listings.
