Market Trends

Jordan Love

In what shouldn’t be much of a surprise, Jordan Love is the biggest riser in the football market over the last 30 days. With Aaron Rodgers on his way out of Green Bay, Love stands to take over the reigns and become just the third starting QB the Packers have had since Brett Favre took over in the 90s. With a track record like that, it stands to reason that people think Love has a bright future, and if you were planning on stocking up this offseason, looks like you missed your chance at the bottom of the market.

Damian Lillard

After years of trade rumors, it looks like Dame is going to stay in Portland. And though the team isn’t at the top of the West standings, Lillard is playing out of his mind right now, having recently scored 71 points in the most efficient NBA scoring game of all-time. Without much news surrounding him or the Blazers, a rise this high is just an appreciation of his greatness.

Jackson Holliday

Matt’s kid recently turned 19, and his cards have been all over the place. The most sought-after player in 2022 Bowman Draft was selling like hotcakes after the product dropped, but things have taken a turn over the last month. Still, after turning heads in Spring Training, the Holliday 2.0 era will be here sooner rather than later. Expect to see him on these charts for years and years to come.

Expert Selection

Bid on Babe Ruth

1933 Goudey #181 Babe Ruth PSA 2 | Alt Value: $12259

This little gem celebrates its 90th birthday this year, so why don’t you celebrate by adding a truly rare piece of American history to your portfolio? The Babe had four cards in the 1933 Goudey set, and this is the only one to feature a closeup of his famous mug. With so few of these pieces in circulation, there’s every reason to hold onto this one for the long haul. A museum piece for any portfolio.

Bid on Wander Franco

2019 Bowman #CPAWF Wander Franco Chrome Prospect Autograph Gold Refractor 48/50 PSA 9 | Alt Value: $8705

One of baseball’s most hyped prospects in recent years, Franco has put up solid numbers since being called up in 2021, but spent a chunk of last year on the injured list and failed to light the league on fire as expected. But with a new season comes new expectations, and many are predicting the full Wander breakout to happen in 2023. Which makes now the perfect time to add one of his best 1st Bowman cards, a PSA 9 Gold Refractor auto. With only one PSA 10 in circulation and just eight PSA 9s, this one is a solid investment before Opening Day.

Bid on Jayson Tatum

2017 Panini Contenders #103A Jayson Tatum Cracked Ice Ticket 18/25 BGS 9 | Alt Value $6638

One of the NBA’s youngest superstars, Tatum has led the Celtics to the top of the East standings, as he tries to bring the C’s their first championship since KG and Paul Pierce ruled the court. If you’re looking to add one of his rookie cards to your portfolio, few look as fun as this one. A Contenders Cracked Ice Ticket auto numbered out of 25, graded a PSA 9 with a 10 grade auto, and featuring a young Tatum ready to pass against the popular ice background. With the playoffs coming, it’s a good time to stock up on Celtics. Bid with confidence.

Bid on Charizard

2002 Pokemon Neo Destiny #107 Shining Charizard 1st Edition Holo PSA 9 | Alt Value $4124

Hunting for monsters? This rare card features art from famed Pokemon designer Hironobu Yoshida, and pictures one of the most famed characters in Pokemon history in a shiny, dark design. Don’t miss your chance to add this special secret rare Pokemon card to your portfolio.

Bid on Giannis Antetokounmpo

2013 Panini Gold Standard #231 Giannis Antetokounmpo Rookie Autograph Jersey Patch Autograph BGS 9.5 | Alt Value $4042

Giannis RPAs are some of the most sought after collectibles in this day and age, so it’s always smart to land one that doesn’t cost the same as a high-end sports car. Here we have a Panini Gold Standard, featuring the young Freak looking ahead into the future. Presented in a BGS 9.5, this golden great is a great buy for any fan of Giannis, and modern hoops cards overall.

Bid on Patrick Mahomes

2016 Panini Select #2 Patrick Mahomes II '17 Draft Xrc Rookie Prizm Redemption PSA 10 | Alt Value $3948

Looking for a unique rookie card of the best QB in the game? This Patrick Mahomes Select Xrc redemption card fits the bill. Featuring young Mahomes preparing to throw a pass, this shiny PSA 10 is a fun option for anyone looking to add a unique gem from #15 to their portfolio.

Bid on Kobe Bryant

2003 E-X #8 Kobe Bryant Jambalaya BGS 9 | Alt Value $3560

Fewer than 20 of these classic Fleer E-X Jambalaya Kobe cards exist in a grade of BGS 9 or higher, and here’s one of them. These rare inserts debuted in 1997 and were brought back six years later, featuring the card you see here. Limited to 1 out of every 480 packs, this 20 year old card is a true rarity, and a must have for any Mamba collector.

Bid on Drew Brees

2001 Topps Chrome #229 Drew Brees Black Refractor 20/100 PSA 8 | Alt Value $3181

Drew Brees is right in the middle of retirement and a Hall of Fame induction, which makes it an interesting time to pounce on his cards, especially rare ones like this Black Refractor rookie. A solid buy for anyone interesting in stocking up on assets from the best QBs of all-time.

Bid on Hank Aaron/Ronald Acuna Jr.

2019 Topps Heritage #RODAAA Hank Aaron/Ronald Acuna Jr. Real One Dual Autographs 12/25 BGS 9.5 | Alt Value $2031

Even the most basic Topps Heritage cards are an amazing combination of the past and present, and this one is far from basic. A dual auto of Hammerin’ Hank and Ronald Acuna Jr, two Braves legends from different generations. Presented in a gem mint BGS 9.5 with a 10 grade auto, this stunner numbered out of 25 has never sold publicly. A beautiful piece of baseball history available for the highest bidder. Score it while you can.

Bid on Bryce Harper

2009 Bowman #BH Bryce Harper Aflac Autograph 133/230 BGS 9.5 | Alt Value $1059

(Extreme duck voice) AFLAC! That’s one of the fun aspects of this card, the other one is the babyfaced “catcher” Bryce Harper smiling at you in his Aflac All-American jersey. Numbered out of 250 and presented in a gem mint BGS 9.5, this is a solid buy for anyone looking to collect the Phillies slugger. And once again, AFLAC!
