One of our favorite benefits of working at ALT is the ability to work remotely. This allows our employees to spend quality time with their loved ones, and explore exciting new places. Over the next month we’ll be sharing stories from some of our team members to highlight where they’ve been while working at ALT.

Next up is Emile Cohen, Software Engineer.

How long have you worked here?

I have been working here for 9 months.

What place(s) have you been able to explore while working remotely, and why did you choose to go there?

I had the chance to explore Big Sur and Los Angeles in California. Then I was able to check out different parts of Mexico that included Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and Mexico City.

I decided to go to Mexico because I speak Spanish and love the beach. This was an opportunity for me to discover new landscapes, culture, and gastronomy (tacos !!!!) while working.

What was your favorite thing you did while traveling?

One of my favorite trips was to Holbox in Quintana Roo. I did a day trip by boat and discovered all the spots you can’t access by foot. I also went to Punta Coco, an area famous for its bioluminescence that makes the water shine at night.

What surprised you about working remotely?

I was able to discover new cultures, people, places and landscapes.

Where are you considering traveling to next?

I have two big destinations in mind. First is Canada, where I want to visit the French parts. The second one is Brazil, as their Carnival is something I would like to experience once in my life.
